Characters (for iPC)

Here are some sample characters that you may play if you don't have the time or knowledge to roll up one of your own...just unzip them into your iPC "Characters" folder, launch iPC, open the character, and play. If you want, you can personalize them afterward. (The stats here can also be printed and glued to a 3 inch x 5 inch index card for tabletop gaming.) My own PC is a heavy-set merchant captain named Beowulf; I have played him since 1977. These GRIP Classic Traveller character sheets have been completely re-worked ( November 25, 2001) to improve functionality.

You may also roll up a character from scratch using two six-sided die and paper and pencil. Here are rough basic classic Traveller rules for rolling up a character. But, I make no guarantees. They are abbreviated and paraphrased, and you may or may not be able to figure them out. If you like playing Traveller in GRIP, I strongly recommend that you buy the rules as soon as possible. They are available for sale at Far Future Enterprises.

Once you have a character you like, begin to fill in this blank character sheet. You will need to fill it in correctly for it to work. If you don't know how, use a detailed character above as a format guide. Note: remember that attributes above 9 are sometimes shown as A (10), B (11) or C (12).

Next you'll want to add Weapon Skills, Non-Weapon Skills, and Equipment to get the full benefit of the improved sheets. Skills (Weapons and Non-Weapons) are found below and each is loaded into its appropriate section on the character sheet. Equipment is found at Daggett's and the weapons themselves are found at Bladenstiel. They are both loaded into the Equipment section of the character sheet. I recommend creating folders in iPC called Weapon Skills, Non-Weapon Skills, and Equipment (oddly enough) to store them. [Warning! These three sets of GRIPLets are not interchangeable with and cannot be used in iGM...iGM items are provided in the iGM section that follows.]

Character Adventures

The "Hefry Starport" campaign began July 29th, 2000, with "Raid on Ruie!" and then "Trouble on Roup" which play-tested adventures that were eventually sold to QuikLink. We can always use one more crewman, as not everyone can make it to every game. Gunners, a Co-Pilot and Navigator, a Medic/Steward, and deckhands ("Marines") are always a good bet. All you will need are Cloth armor, a good pistol of some sort, and perhaps a sword or rifle. You may use a favorite character (or a sample from this page) but get it approved in advance - no SUPER heroes and no super wimps! This entity is Capt Beowulf. He is offered for play to Referees who would like to populate Hefry (or other worlds) and may be modified as needed. Don't expect me to stop playing Beowulf as a character or an NPC, and the special psionic ability must remain a secret due to ongoing campaigns. Make it whatever you like.

The adventure below, "Hefry Starport", is a great jumping off place for campaigns. It is offered as freeware and may not be sold. While the components are intentionally of lesser quality than adventures I have sold to QuikLink, they should suffice as starters. Make changes, have fun, and take it from here. Below it are the various components that will allow you to make changes.
