Hide Your Heart

The cold seeps into my bones
As I sit and wait by the phone
Wasting my life without a home
Call me! Don't leave my heart alone!
God, so cold, all feeling long gone
All my love is out on extended loan
My soul chases you wherever you roam
Shivering in the snow, hear me moan

How can I know, what love I can show,
When you hide your heart in an ice floe
When it seems we get too close you just go
Will you ever say yes, must I wither with no
Why do you treat me so, when will I ever know
Must you always hide your heart in an ice floe?

Lost in the dark, faces walk right past
Feet scurry leaving me behind so fast
Hidden signs of empty eyes an easy task
Anguish seeks my throat to still my last gasp
Where is the hand of freedom I seek to clasp
Make my lifeless body a condemmed man's repast
Spill my blood, drink it till the very last
Stranded in the frozen waste an emptiness so vast

How can I show, what love can I know,
When you hide your heart in an ice floe
When will I ever know why you treat me so,
Whenever I feel you close you cut me with no
Will you ever be mine, how can trust not go
When your heart lies forbidden in an ice floe

Must you always hide your heart in an ice floe?
