Winter in My Heart


Love is so cold it freezes her tears
Dripping like diamonds down her face
Her faint breath weaves a misty halo
Wrapped in ice, a heart has no place

Hands beseeching mirroring her pain
Bloody icicles a testament to despair
In supplication this lonely ice maiden
Awaits death's peaceful shroud to wear

Barren wastelands stretch before her
Where once were fields of happiness
Encased in fozen misery this tableau
Winter etched in every line of her lonliness

Snow falls like a dusting of sweet sugar
Coating her like some ghostly figuerine
Soon pain's drifts will smother her forever
An icy monument to love that might have been
