The Dubber's Strike
The day the dubbers went on strike
America lost its voice.
In 90210, they speak no French.
And when they tried to find new voices,
Senior Velasco feared it would be a crime
To put another voice in someone's mouth
Which had not spoken there before.
'If the people notice the voices have changed,
They might complain," he told the Associated Press.
But voices change as time goes by,
And when Captain Kirk says "Tranportez-moi" again,
The dubber who dubbed him won't be the same.
And maybe someday they'll come to their senses
And come and hire me to play that part, a man
Who brags a lot
And pauses
Quite often
When he speaks.
