Diamond

The word "diamond" comes from the greek "adamas" which means, invincible. Napoleon carried a sword set with a diamond into battle as it was said to make the owner unconquerable.
Diamond's value as a gemstone is based on the 4 C's which are CLARITY, COLOUR, CUT and CARAT. Only 20% of diamonds are suitable as gemstones, the remainder are used in industry for drilling and high-quality abrasives. Commonly, diamonds are colourless, although they can also be of different hues of yellow and in some rare case they can be blue, brown, green, red, or violet. Diamonds are believed to portray purity, trust, innocence and faithfulness which is why they are traditionally used as the stone in engagement rings. A diamond's most distinctive characteristics are its hardness and sparkle, which are unmatched by any other crystal.
