Feldspar is a generally common occuring mineral, making up more than 50% of the earths crust. Iridescence and Colour are the source of feldspars' appeal. A number of gemstones belong to the Feldspar family:

Moonstone is transparent and diffracts reflected light, creating a silvery-blue, cloudlike sheen. In general, moonstones are almost colourless, having only a pale-grey or yellowy tint, with a whitish to silvery-white or blue shimmer, making it feldspar's most valued variety. Moonstone is said to stimulate confidence and balances the emotions. It encourages intuitiveness and perception. Enhances the femine nature.

Amazonite is a bright green variety, usually with a mottled appearance and sometimes has a fine criss cross network of light striations. It is believed that amazonite aligns and balances the physical with the etheric body, calms nerves, aids creative expression and soothes the emotions. It brings clarity, joy and an understanding of universal love.
Labradorite may at first seem to be a dark grey colour, but when the light strikes it in a certain way, it displays rainbow-like colours (violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange and red)in an affect similar to that of petrol lying on water. The most distinctive feature of labrodorite is its iridescence against a dark background. It is believed that Labradorite encourages patience and perseverence and an understanding of inner knowing.
