Finally, after a ten year hiatus, Simpsons action figures are back on the scene. And a welcome return it is. The new figures by Playmates are top-notch. Even with the promised inclusion of many of the "minor" characters in the lineup, however, there is still room for customization. Especially since the Simpsons world is one of the more diverse in the animated universe. So….here are a few Simpsons customs, with more on the way.

BARTMAN
Bartman: Avenger of Injustice. Bartman was simply a repaint of the Bart figure, with a cloth cape added. The cape was made from a piece of jersey fabric stiffened with a fabric paint fixative added to the acrylic paint. A relatively easy, but effective, custom.

TOAD-LICKING HOMER
Here's Homer from the "Missionary: Impossible" episode. Homer, on the lam from a bad pledge to PBS, is sent by Reverend Lovejoy to do missionary work in the South Pacific. Hilarity ensues. Intellitronic voice chip technology allows Homer to say classic lines from this episode, such as: "Sanctuary, sanctuary!", "Save me, Jebus!", "Jebus, where are you? Homer to Jebus", "Great, now my testicle's got ants on it" and "I'm not not licking toads". And remember kids, don't lick hallucinogenic toads.

WACKY NASA
This is the official NASA patch for one of the Space Shuttle / Mir Space Station experiments involving sea urchin sperm. Apparently the researcher was a friend of Matt Groening's, who designed the official patch. As a tribute to all the sea urchins who apparently had the "Right Stuff" to make it into space I made the "Astronaut Homer" seen next door. Astronaut Homer was a very simple 5-minute headswap, using the head from "Sundays Best" Homer and the body from one of the astronauts (Duke) from Bandai's "Heroes of Space" three-pack.

SPACEMAN HOMER
Here's Homer from the classic "Deep Space Homer" episode. Homer, through various happenstances, ends up in space on the Space Shuttle. Eating extra salty chips no less. As usual, hilarity ensues. Intellitronic voice chip technology allows Homer to say classic lines from this episode, such as: "Union rule 26. "Every employee must win 'Worker of the Week' at least once, regardless of gross incompetence, obesity, or rank odor. Heh heh heh heh.", "Stupid carbon rod. It's all just a popularity contest!", "Hello, is this President Clinton? Good! I figured if anyone knew where to get some Tang, it'd be you. ...Shut up!", "The only danger is if they send us to that terrible Planet of the Apes. Wait a minute...Statue of Liberty...that was our planet! You maniacs! You blew it up! Damn you! Damn you all to hell!", "Well, here I am, right on time. I don't see Barney "Let's crash the rocket into the White House and kill the President" Gumble.", "You're right, Marge. Just like the time I could have met Mr. T at the mall. The entire day I kept saying, "I'll go a little later. I'll go a little later." And then when I got there, they told me he'd just left. And when I asked the mall guy if he would ever come back again, he said he didn't know. Well, I'm never going to let something like that happen again! I'm going into space right now! and "Yeah, maybe I do have the right...what's that stuff?".

I wanna go back to the homepage. Beam me outta here, Scotty! ENERGIZE!
