Four Past Midnight

Midnight Picture

Past midnight, something happens to time, that fragile concept we employ to order our sense of reality. This is four chilling novellas, a feast for King fans old and new.

One Past Midnight:

The Langoliers- Takes a red eye flight from L.A. to Boston into a most unfriendly sky. Only 11 passengers survive, but landing in an eerily empty world makes them wish they hadn't.

Dedication: This is for Joe, Another White-Knuckle Flier.

Two Past Midnight:

Secret Window, Secret Garden- The suddenly strange life of writer Mort Rainey, recently divorced, depressed, and alone on the Tashmore Lake. Alone, until a figure named John Shooter arrives, pointing an accusing finger.

Dedication: This is for Chuck Verrill.

Three Past Midnight:

The Library Policeman- Junction City, Iowa, an unlikely place for evil to be hiding. But for small buisnessman Sam Peebles, who thinks he may be losing his mind, another enemy may be hiding there as well- the truth. If he can't find it in time, he may not stand a chance.

Dedication: This is for the Staff and Patrons of the Pasadena Public Library.

Four Past Midnight:

The Sun Dog-The flat surface of a Polaroid photograph becomes for 15 year old Kevin Delevan an invitation to the supernatural. Old Pop Merrill, Castle Rock's sharpest trader wants to crash the party for profit, but it turns out to be a very dangerous investment......

Dedication: This is in memory of John D. MacDonald. I miss you, old friend -- and you were right about the tigers.
