My Father

BY: Nicole

I call out to my Father,
Into the black of night.
He tells me not to bother,
Humoring my fright.
He says that it's that Satan fellow
Who wants to do me in,
Who makes the ghosts in shadows,
and voices in the wind.
So, I wrap my covers 'round me,
And offer up a prayer.
Then Satan with his tricks will flee.
My Father's always there.
