Bhai Shaam Singh Jee

| Bhai Shaam Singh ji dedicated his life to singing glories of the Almighty. He did 78 years of devoted service at Harmandir Saheb, Amritsar by doing daily keertan in the first watch (chowki) early in the morning. As shown above, he did keertan on the saranda, an instrument from the Gurus' period. He is said to have opposed the bringing of harmonium in Harmandir Saheb as an instrument for keertan during his lifetime. He died at the age of 125. Bhai Shaam Singh ji has several publications to his credit. He was known to be a very Naamee Gursikh. |
