The Story:

Do you remember your childhood?  I do, but there's so much that I want to forget.  Especially the antagonist of my teenage years.  She was such a b*tch.  She would purposely single me out for teasing and abuse.

It was hard enough being a teenager.  It was harder being a teenager with a weight and self-esteem problem.  It was impossible to be all that and constantly abused.  She was one of many girls who would focus on my shortcomings, but for some reason, she is the only one who I  remember as being constantly mean and spiteful.  It was so bad, some of the other kids were afraid of being my friend because they'd also receive some of her not-so-positive attention.

It was hard going through all my school years with that kind of abuse.  The day after high school, I left for the big city, never looking back.

I found out years later that she had married right out of high school and started producing puppies right away.  Last I heard she was still in that small northern town, pulling down two jobs (one as a waitress) supporting her deadbeat husband and raising their 3 children.

And you know what?  Even after everything she did to me, I feel kind of sorry for her ... sometimes.

What Was Learned:
  • What goes around comes around
  • Just because someone thinks they are very popular in high school, and that they have a great future, doesn't mean their life will turn out that way.
  • "It s*cks being her"
  • My high school years were h*ll, but I survived.
Final Say:

If I were still in high school I think the first thing that would come to mind would have been "nyah nyah na nyah nyah".   But I'm not in high school anymore.  Instead I'll just think about it and smile.

The Serenity Prayer

God, grant me

The Serenity to accept the things I cannot change,

Courage to change the things I can, and

Wisdom to know the difference.
