Today, O Lord, I have been good
So far, I’ve done all that I should
I’ve kept my grumpiness in check
The worst word that I’ve said is “heck”
I’ve made no nasty, cruel quips
And gossip hasn’t passed my lips
I’ve not consumed more than I need
Nor given in to pride and greed
But, if I’m not to change my tune
O Lord, I’ll need your help real soon
In minutes I’ll have cause to dread
‘Cause I’ll be getting out of bed
