Februarius is named for the februa or
purifications that occur during this month.

Parentalia is a celebratory period in which ancestors are honored.

Lupercalia-  the fertility rites started at the Lupercal where Romulus and Remus were suckled by a she-wolf. Goats and dogs are sacrificed to Faunus, while young men dressed in goat-skins run around the base of the Palatine hill.

Feralia- the rites to appease the souls of the dead. Dinners are carried to the tombs of the dead.

bissextilis is not a holiday but is the day added every four years during the leap year.

Regifugium was the flight of the king and is held to celebrate the
expulsion of Tarquinius
Superbus from Rome.
