I've given this a lot of thought, particularly with the birth of Dadge.com, and decided to retain the association with Amazon.
Reason #1: The Amazon book pages are a convenient way of giving information about people who visitors to my site might not have heard of, or not know much about.
Reason #2: Amazon is a great company.
Reason #3: "Our favourite people" is quite time-consuming, so the (tiny) amount of income I get from Amazon goes some way to paying for that time.
