REPROGRAPHICS

[Photocopying, Duplicating, Blueprinting/Whiteprinting]

Research into the field of reprographics in 1979 resulted in an annual cost savings of $400,000. The City of Edmonton was the second major company in Canada to introduce central management of 'copying' services - the first being the University of Manitoba.

As a newcomer to the department, this new approach required persuasion of three levels of management, which was successful, and the program was approved by Council and implemented in record time for a government institution ....

Compiled statistics for the previous five years and found that both costs and volume of copying in municipal government had been increasing annually by 20%.

Studied the changing market in this field. Discussed with manufacturers and office equipment dealers the new trends. At own cost, visited the annual Hannover Fair in West Germany, the premier exhibition of office equipment, as well as the N.O.M.D.A. Convention (the North American equivalent); wrote a monthly newsletter The Copier as a teaching tool for those with responsibility in this field; also wrote a book on the subject but delayed publication.

Recognized as the leading authority in Canada in this field, and well-known to the manufacturers of copiers throughout the world for over a decade.
