- The 737 is the best-selling commercial jetliner of all time.
- Airlines and other operators have ordered more than 3,300 Boeing 737s, with more than 2,700 having been delivered.
Currently, more than 250 customers in 95 countries fly 737s.
- Over 700 737s are in the air at all times.
- The 737 fleet has carried approximately 4.3 billion passengers, equal to more than half of the world's population.
- In 27 years of operation, the 737 fleet has flown more than 26.6 billion miles -- approximately 130 round trips from
Earth to the sun.
- The 737 fleet has produced more than 71 million hours of revenue service for its operators -- equivalent to about
8,105 years of continuous service (through March 31, 1996).
- The 737 fleet has made more than 62 million flights (as of March 31, 1996).
- The current-generation 737 is the most reliable jet airplane in commercial aviation today, with a dispatch reliability of
