The original idea came from a Mother Earth News magazine published in August, 1983. They had run an article a few months before on how to make a garden sprayer using a 2 liter bottles for the tanks, some fittings and other hardware. A while later, somebody wrote in saying the plans had given them an idea. If you rearranged a few things, something fun emerged... The Water Rocket was born!

My two son's interest in "cool" toys gave me a reason to remember the Mother article and construct a launch pad. The reaction of the neighborhood kids and the resulting questions from their parents of "How do you make one?" gave me the idea it was worth putting on the 'net.

The pages were designed, written and coded by me. Cartoons are done by Alex Crawford, diagrams by myself.
