Armstrong was the first man to walk on the Moon. Before that, he commanded Gemini VIII with Pilot Dave Scott. That mission was aborted prematurely due to a problem with the capsule's thruster and the crew was on their own at sea for over three hours before recovery crews could reach them. Armstrong does not honor autograph requests any more so his autograph is quite desirable to own.
