May 7, 2000:
MEDICAL-SURGICAL MISSION IN PAETE, LAGUNA PICTURES
- This
regular medical mission is being done quarterly for almost 3 years now. Alpha
Phi Residents again supported a project of APO-MAS (Alpha Phi Omega - Medical
Alumni Society). Medical & Surgical services were given to a
community hardly reached by doctors in the mountainous terrain of Laguna where
doctors have to hike for 2 hours just to reach the patients.

February 2000:
MEDICAL CHECK-UP OF PLEDGES
-
Medical check-up of pledges of Eta Chapter was held last February... to ensure
that neophytes of APO of the University of the Philippines were physically fit.
This was also done to promote friendship with different chapters of APhiO.

October 10, 1999: MEDICAL MISSION AT PAYATAS

September 15, 1999:
DANCE nAPO TAYO '99 PICTURES
- a
dance contest project of the chapter to entertain the UERM Community.
This was hosted by Sis Rosel Cainto and Bro. Dr. Ricky Morales. Among the
judges were Bro. Dr. Nino Pujalte and showbiz personality Allona Amor. It was
indeed a splendid activity!

September 11, 1999: MEDICAL MISSION WITH UERMMMC RED CROSS AT PIER 4 MANILA.

WHITE
CROSS ORPHANAGE
- Along
with entertaining and being compassionate with the orphans...anti-helminthic
medicines were given to the children to promote health.

MEDICAL/DENTAL
MISSIONS
-
Various Medical and Dental Missions were done to various indigent communities
in the Philippines. Aside from treatment of various diseases, promotion of
Primary Health Care was one of the main objectives. One of the latest
community given service was the one in Laguna de Bay.

SURGICAL
MISSIONS & OPERATION TULE PICTURES
- Various
surgical missions were also held in different indigent communities in the
Philippines. Minor surgeries like cyst removal were done. Many
indigent children from the communities of the urban and rural poor were
circumcized to alleviate medical and surgical expenses. One of the
latest community given service was Imus, Cavite.

TRAINING
OF PERSONNEL
-
Various medical students from UERMMMC were trained by brods and sis ... to
share their knowledge to the community on how to do minor surgical
procedures and circumcision.

OUTINGS
and FELLOWSHIPS
- to
different tourist resorts in the Philippines. Latest was the one in
Batangas. (pictures later)

July 13, 1999:
ORIENTATION PICTURES
- held
at the Pathology Lecture Room of UERM and attended by 30 medical students from
UERMMMC. Present were alumni brothers ... Bro. Nino Pujalte M.D. (Orthopedic
Surgeon & Prof. Dept. of Anatomy, UERMMMC) and fraternity adviser Bro.
Tomasino Padla Jr. M.D. (Professor, Dept. of Pathology, UERMMMC). Complete with
visual aids ... Principles of Leadership, Friendship & Service were shared
to the students.

May 5, 1999:
MEDICAL MISSION IN SAN MATEO, RIZAL PICTURES
- along
with APO-MAS (Alpha Phi Omega - Medical Alumni Society) and APO-ACNA (Alumni
Council of North America) and San Mateo Alumni Association led by Bro. Vice
Mayor Ome Rivera, and the National Council through Bro. Teddy Rivera (present
president of APO Philippines) and other Alumni Brods and Sis from different
chapters locally and abroad. There were more that 2,000 patients treated.
APO ACNA has donated some surgical instruments and instruments sterilizer ...
which was acquired by the Chapter.

MEN'S BASKETBALL PICTURES
- a
yearly fraternity activity held from July to October. Medical Students from all
year levels including employees of the College, students from the College of
Nursing and Physical Therapy compete in the spirit of Sportmanship to promote
Friendship within the school community.
