Katie is a new addition to the 1999 Hurricanes roster, and a welcome one at that. Katie is a another of the Hurricanes very athletic post players, combining strength and quickness in the paint. During the fall she runs cross country at Leavitt High School. She is a great rebounder with a very nice touch around the basket. Katie is developing a number of post moves with her back to the hoop, and her nose for the ball allows her to pick up easy buckets. On the defensive end she is a force, holding opponents to one shot, and looking up the floor to start the vaunted Hurricanes fast break.
