Malcolm X

 

Malcolm X was a Black Muslim and He was born on May 19, 1925. His original name was Malcolm Little. His father was an outspoken follower of Marcus Garvey and was killed after receiving threats from the Klu Klux Klan when Malcolm X was six years old. His mother suffered a nervous breakdown and the eight children were taken into care by the welfare department. When Malcolm X went to Boston, Massachusetts he was involved in the criminal activity. In 1946 Malcolm X was sentenced to prison for burglary. When he was in prison, he became interested in the teachings of racial separation between the black and white. When he was released in 1952, he joined a blacked Muslim temple in Detroit.

On February 21, 1965, Malcolm X was shot to death when he delivered a speech in Manhattan’s Audubon Ballroom.
