A FEW GUITAR FACTS

   A guitar is a popular instrument and it is used in many places around the world. It is a "stringed intrument" having has six strings and has a long neck. There is also an "electric guitar". It has the same length and same number of strings, only it works on electricity. You can play the guitar with your fingers or a pick. A pick is a small triangular plastic object.


BALALAIKA. The Balalaika is a Russian instrument. Unlike the guitar, the balalaika has only three strings. The balalaika has a triangular body and a short neck.


BANJO. The banjo is an African instrument. The banjo has only five strings. For a banjo, people usually use a plectrum. A plectrum is like a pick but it is stuck to your fingers. The banjo has a long neck, a circular body of stretch parchment of a drum. The strings are made from catgut (sheep intestines) and wires.
