This
car, an '88 model with SE specs which stands for 'Special Equipment', has
full options (high compression engine, brake assistance, power steering,
air conditioning, full leather interior, redesigned wooden dashboard, larger
'Speedline' wheels, special rear spoiler, spats etc.) and is finished
in Monaco White. |
Although
the ESPRIT looks much more brute and surely attracts more looks, I prefer
the more perceptive and elegant line of the Excel. The Excel certainly
has an 'Italian Flair' |
I
love the elegant styling of the Excel which was originally penned by Oliver
Winterbottom in the seventies with its predecessor the Lotus ELITE or the
Hatchback version named ECLAT. In the eighties the design was revised by
Peter Stevens who can also be held responisble for the re-design of the
current model of the Lotus ESPRIT. |
A
2.2 litre Lotus built-engine, fed by two Dell'orto carburettors, which
brings you 184 HP. Who would ask for more? |
