Gillian Anderson Gillian Leigh Anderson plays Special Agent Dana Katherine Scully. Her parents are Edward and Rosemary Anderson and she wears a size 7 shoe. Gillian was born in Chicago on August 9, 1968 and is one of three kids.

She has a yonger sister Zoe (who I think has played a young Scully on the X-Files once or twice) and a younger brother Aaron. He suffers from neurofibromatosis and she has done work to increase government research. She has asked that instead of sending her cards on her birthday (or whenever) you donate money for neurofibromatosis research.
And here they are older.

When she was a teenager and lived in England (?) she pierced her nose and shaved her hair into a mohawk. After highschool she went to New York to study with the National Theater of Great Britain at Cornell University. She graduated from the Goodman Theater School at Chicago's DePaul University with a BFA in 1990.

On January 1, 1994 she got married to Clyde Klotz on the 17th hole of a golf course in Hawaii by a buddist priest. But they are now divorced.
On September 25, 1994 they had her first child. Piper Maru Anderson was born between episodes 2.6 and 2.8. The episode Piper Maru was named after her.
Gillian Anderson doesn't want pictures of her daughter Piper out because she wants her privacy, which I understand. So please accept this picture of the girl who played Emily in episodes Christmas Carrol, Emily, and All Souls. She is around the same age.

Gillian Anderson has starred in recent films such as The Mighty and Playing by Heart with a bunch of people but she was mostly with Jon Stewart, who she took to the wedding at the end.

Gillian Anderson directed and wrote her first episode. The 7th season episode, all things. This is what the official site says about it. "A SERIES OF COINCIDENCES PUTS SCULLY IN CONTACT WITH SOMEONE FROM HER PAST, CAUSING HER TO QUESTION HER ROMANTIC AND PROFESSIONAL CHOICES." But she goes back to Mulder at the end.

It was great. It was an all Scully episode. Except for a few scenes.

Gillian Anderson is staring in The House Of Mirth with Eric Stoltz. It was filmed in Scotland and South France. Nice Maybe? The House Of Mirth will premire in the US in September on Showtime.
