1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass "S" hardtop
My first Cutlass. My 1971 Datsun 510 had finally died in front of a local Nissan dealer in Dallas, so I hiked up the embankment, went to their used car department and asked them for the cheapest used car they had. The salesman mentioned that they had *just* gotten a '69 Cutlass in trade, and it was in the garage being looked at. It looked as though it hadn't been washed in years, was full of tires both in the trunk and the interior. Pretty sorry, but they said they wanted $1300 for it (this was 1977), so I said ok. He said I'd have to wait a day or two so they could do the paperwork and get the car cleaned up. Two days later, I get a call from the guy who says "you know, you're stealing this car from us". I go to look, and BOY! Did it clean up nice! 350-4bbl, buckets, console, most options. My favorite car until this next one...
