Mine & the 240-Z's First Car Show

I participated in my first car show, 5/4/98. There were about 80 cars. Most of them were of the pre-30's rods & pre-50's customs. Other than mine, there was only one other foreign car there, a VW-Bug.

The top 15 were selected by participants. There were no categories. I think they should create a category called "Best Foreign Custom" or best "Foreign Hybrid". Then, I might have a shot. I did manage to get a door-prize.

The public reactions to my car were different, due in most to person's age. About 40 years and older would not even look at the car. Most of them didn't know what it was, but it was too '70's to be worthy of their gaze. A few of these fellows did manage to catch a glint of the Chevy orange peeking out of the engine compartment. In such case, they would walk up and say, "What kinda car is this? That looks like it was real easy!". Thirty five years and younger showed a little more interest in the car. The typical reactions were; "Man, I bet that thing will scoot!" or "Do you drive this often? It's nice.".

Anyway, here are some pic's, enjoy....

I bet that's easy enough to work on.

280-Z door panels, '79 ZX arm rests, frenched 700-R4 shifter, talon seats, CD-audio

What kinda car did you say that was?

How come you painted it white?

What year of Z had round tail-lights?

A year later with bumpers installed.
