4/11/98~~~~~ The new Mod is now having the finishing welding being done before painting. The car will then come to the ER Racing Shop to mount brake lines and all other mounts and accessories before being sent out to be painted. Visit here often to follow our progress and pictures.

4/16/98~~~~~Robin left to go to Martinsville [Just to help and watch a Tour Team he went with] . The chassis is still being worked on and was to be home already but Martinsville came up. We should have the chassis back by mid-week.

4/23/98~~~~~The chassis work is finished but the car has been put on hold. Robin left today for Stafford to help a Tour team again. Robin has recently rekindled an old friendship with Gary Cretty. Gary asked if Robin could help out. Gary owns the #25 and #96 NASCAR Featherlite Tour modified teams. If I hear anything this weekend I will put it up ASAP. Hope to have pictures soon.

4/29/98~~~~~Robin got back Monday and the car is back at the shop to fit panels and start to paint. Gary's #25, with Jan Leaty driving, timed in at Stafford in 6th fastest time. He then drew 2nd starting position for the race, which was rained out till next Sunday. Should have pictures of our car by this weekend.

4/30/98~~~~~Finally got 3 pictures. Chassis is getting painted Wednesday. Colors aren't picked out yet. All other parts like motor, rear, suspension all just fell in place for the team this week. When we get the chassis back, we will start to assemble the car.

5/9/98~~~~~The chassis is being painted today (finally). The color combo will be a red chassis with a white body and red roof. Soon as chassis is back I'll post some pictures.

5/17/98~~~~~Chassis is painted and assembly is beginning. Chassis was painted by Paul and Tom. Thanks. Our number has been changed from 35 (Robin's first number) to 02.

5/25/98~~~~~Sorry for no current update as I was extremely busy with work duties. The car is almost finished. Small painting to do, rearend to be finished, and put on headers. Hope to be at Riverhead? 5/30/98. Have pictures soon.

6/1/98~~~~~Trying to get pictures up. This is my idea of the way the car may look.

6/14/98~~~~~The car is finished and was to run at Riverhead last night but it rained out. Below are some pictures. The finished product pictures will be up by Friday. Robin is taking the car to Art Barry's shop to finalize the setup for next Saturday's Tour race at Riverhead.

6/22/98~~~~~Well the tour came and went at Riverhead. Fast time was set by Mike Ewanitsko with an 11.886 lap. Robin faired very well with a respectable 12.085 which gave him a 16th starting spot, considering the week before it rained and lost all night to set up the car and get the bugs out. Robin was very easily holding his own till he had a major overheating problem. He pulled off the track on lap 53 so he wouldn't hurt the motor. The winner was Ewanitsko with Mike Stefanik a very close 2nd and Jan Leaty 3rd.

6/27/98~~~~~The car is being loaded to go for a regular night at Riverhead. The car should perform well now that the bugs have been worked out. It will still be a tough night because everyone wants to win at Riverhead and the track is extemely small. I'll report tomorrow on tonights race.

6/28/98~~~~~Robin ran at Riverhead and it was a productive night. The car didn't handle well and he didn't qualify through his heat. Robin did qualify in the consi. Robin started 19th and by the lap13 caution, passing cars and avoiding accidents, he was up to 4th. On the restart he got hung outside and was unable to keep his position. All in all at the end of the 35 lapper, Robin finished a respectable 9th. Not bad Robin, the win WILL come!!

6/29/98~~~~~This weekend is a 50 lap event at Riverhead. They will run time trials and it's a double point show. I really think that Robin should be watched cause once this car is dialed in there will be no stopping him. Robin only raced Troyer cars before and he said this Spafco is like driving a Cadillac compared to the Troyers.

7/6/98~~~~~Robin didn't qualify well (handling problems) and had to run the consi which he won. He started 16th and worked up to 9th in the main. The typical freight train at Riverhead kept him at that position at the end. Still not a bad finish. Next week might be the New Hampshire Tour race? As soon as I get the picture at the finish line I'll post it here.

7/14/98~~~~~Robin qualified through his heat and was to start 15th but a driver was ejected from the track before the race, for his actions in his late model ride, so he started 14th. The race was a disgrace. On the third lap cars went everywhere. Robin got caught in the action, was hit in the rear and ran over another car. Looked like alot of damage but will be ready for next week. Robin's three weeks of starting in the back (Riverheads handicapping of three weeks) are finally over. He will now start according to the last three weeks of money won which should provide a better starting position in his heat and the main.

7/19/98~~~~~Riverhead held a 75 lap event last night with time trials. Robin got seventh fastest [12.036] on his first lap and was on his way to a better time in the second lap but pushed it too hard in the third turn and got loose [12.288]. Seventh is still a great time with the top six redrawing for position. In the feature Robin was up to third pressing the first two cars and ducked under for second and was involved in an accident. Robin's official finish is unknown as of right now. Robin will be out for 2 weeks at Riverhead to get the motor freshened up. He'll return to Riverhead for the Featherlite Modified Tour show.

Here's a picture of Robin's consi win two weeks ago.

8/10/98~~~~~Robin just missed getting in the show since the tour doesn't have consi's anymore. Tough break for Robin. The race was won by pole sitter Mike Ewanitsko. Sorry to here about Jan Leaty and contrary to belief he is doing OK.

8/18/98~~~~~Robin tried to qualify the #25 modified of Gary Cretty Motorsports, since Jan Leaty will be out for a while, at Stafford last weekend. He only got in about 15 laps of practice due to a transmission seal leak. Since he had little practice, he just missed getting in the field. This weekend is a 75 lap at Riverhead and Robin will be there. The #96 of Garry Cretty Motorsports is to be there with Bruce Harrison driving. Bruce, I think, drives a Pro-Stock at New Thompson Speedway. If anything develops I will note it here. Riverhead may be Robin's last race. Sorry to hear that!

9/16/98~~~~~This site will be going on for a couple of months. Robin has sold the car. Robin is looking for a ride for 1999. Riverhead Raceway or the Mod Tour is of interest for now.
