Our race team is based in Warren, PA on Conewango Avenue. Owned by Dutch Davies, we are planning on bigger and better things for this year. This year we have purchased one complete Warrior Racing Chasis, and another frame. We are now a Dealer of the Warrior Chasis, and will have a frame jig onsite, along with a metal brake and other pieces of equipment to service the Warrior cars, plus do sheetmetal work(interiors and bodies).We also have just become a dealer of Hoosier Racing Tires.
This year our team will have the luxury of 2 engines. We just picked up a deal with Baker Racing Engines, which is located in Michigan. It is a 415 cu.in. powerplant, and will be our primary engine. Our other powerplant is a 435 cu.in.Draime Racing Engine, based in Massilion,OH. Transferring power to the rear will be handled by 2 speed Bert Transmissions. Our suspension parts will be AFCO products: AFCOshocks, AFCoils, and various other parts from a great company. Our car will have Hoosier Racing Tires under it, as we became a Hoosier Dealer on April 10, 1998.
Last year our team raced primarily at Ace High Speedway in Conneaut, Ohio on Friday nights, at Hidden Valley Speedway in Clearfield, PA on Saturaday nights, and at Tri-City Speedway on Sunday nights. We also raced some of the MACS Racing Series events, a STARS event, and at Challenger Raceway,Stateline Speedway, Eriez Speedway, and a few other tracks.
This year, we plan on racing at Speedway7(formerly Ace High) on Friday nights, and at Challenger Raceway in Indiana,PA on Saturday nights. We will also be running some of the MACS events, and STARS events when they are in our area(primarily at Challenger and at Raceway7).
For all who have asked.... the reason for changing our race track schedule and running Challenger instead of Hidden Valley, is for a few reasons. One thing that really upset our team was finishing 2nd in points and not having an invite to the Hidden Valley banquet. That and treatment at the track throughout the season, made our decision easy to change tracks. The one thing that DID NOT have an effect was the fans there. We will definitely be missing the fans that we have at the Valley, AND INVITE ALL OF OUR FANS TO WATCH US RACE EVERY SATURDAY NIGHT AT CHALLENGER RACEWAY.
Our goal this year is to win a Points Championship. Last year it came down to the last race at Hidden Valley, finishing 2nd in points, even though we missed 6 races. If we can come home every race in one piece, and have good runs, we feel that we can have an excellent chance at accomplishing this task.
