Chevrolet Monte Carlo drivers win first four races of the season!
Cracker Barrel Old Country Store 500, 3-11-01
In an amazing finish, Kevin Harvick beat Jeff Gordon to the line by .006 seconds to win his first ever WC race. Harvick took the late Dale Earnhardt's Goodwrench Monte Carlo to victory lane in only his third attempt. Harvick paid tribute to Earnhardt by taking a Polish victory lap while raising three fingers out the window.

On May 12th, 2000, Adam Petty lost his life in a crash while practicing for the Busch 200 at New Hampshire.. His #45 Sprint Chevrolet hit the wall in turn 3 at over 130mph. He reportedly died at the hospital of head trauma. He was 19 years old. Adam was well liked, and he will be sorely missed by friends and competitors alike.
