Jim McIllwain
Jim was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee.
As he grew up, he played music with some of the Opry folks. He graduated from Woodbine Christian Academy, where he played football on the high school team with his best friend, Stonewall Jackson, Jr., also known as Tarp.
As a teenager, Jim had his own band and played in outlying clubs in the Nashville area. He also competed in a contest in Gospel music and went to the Nationals, where he placed second. His style of guitar picking was learned from watching and picking with Larry Gatlin.
His marriage to Pam and his 2 daughters, Jennifer and Autumn, side-tracked his music career for a period of time.
While in New Hampshire in 1997, Jim competed and won State Male Vocalists there. This led him to the Nationals in Las Vegas. He walked away with the award for 1998-1999 National Country Music Organizations "Male Vocalist of the Year". He has since moved to the Great Smoky Mountains. He sings in different locations in Gatlinburg area.
Jim recently became affiliated with RMCMA records.
A multi-artist CD will soon be released with two of Jim's original songs on it. He not only is a great entertainer, but is also crafted in the art of songwriting. He will be touring Europe with other RMCMA artists in October. Jim's greatest desire is to be accepted by a major label. We are very happy to have Jim as part of the RMCMA label.
His Songs are:

What Did I Ever Do
Just Can't One Night Stand Her No More
