Joint Strike Fighter is a very boogie project, meant to create the unbelievable : an jet aircraft that would fit everybody's needs.
Everybody knows that US Navy, US Marines and US Air Force were fighting since they were created to push the US Congress to vote for an fighter to fit their requirements.
While US Air Force wants the F22 Raptor, the US Navy loves the new F/A 18 SuperHornet and thinks that F22 is a lot of cost for nothing. While all this is happening, US Marine Corps doesn't want to eliminate the Harrier II Plus.
