Eyeball trees were inspired by looking at trees that had holes in them. Of course these are probably for squirrels and other animals to live in, but what if they were places to put in eyeballs? Thus, eyeball trees. Somehow they became popular on Hamumu, but that's another story...
Eyeball trees are very terrifying monsters. The reason why they are so terrifying is a mystery. It could be their feeling of panic placed on some, their hypnotizing qualities, their being monsters, or just some conspira-tree. Some may panic facing with these monsters, but only the brave will poke them right in the eye!
The creator of eyeball trees is the Oculomancer, a psychotic wizard! Yeah... a wizard did it. There seems to be more than one way to create them, as when the eyeballs of others are put into trees, the trees then created somewhat resemble their eyeballs' former occupants, rather than just generic eyeball trees. The Oculomancer is dead now... OR IS HE?!
On Hamumu, there is a forum RPG game called Tunnels and Titans. The players are elemental wizards. I hosted a dungeon featuring the eyeball trees. I was thinking of a final boss for the dungeon, and what could be better than a NEW elemental wizard?! Thus, the Oculomancer. Unfortunately I didn't finish making the final boss fight and the dungeon ended right before the big battle. I made another dungeon recently and made him the final boss so the characters could finally fight him.
