RICK'S WORLD OF CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR PROFILING
DEFINITION:
A description of the salient psychological and behavioral characteristics
of a person. It portrays the individual psychodynamically by identifying
personality and behavior traits or patterns that uniquely classify and
distinguish him from members of the general population.
PURPOSE:
To provide the investigator with a personality composite of the unknown
suspect(s) that will aid swift and judicious apprehension.
HOW DOES IT HELP?:
Reduces the number of possible suspects, refocuses the investigation,
Reduces investigative man hours. Although it does create more hours analyzing
the and reconstructing the crime scene.
