![Interview](interview.jpg)
The two main
protagonists are plausible and spiteful enough to
ensure an almost perfect amount of chemistry
between the two leads. Tony Martin is familiar
with the tough guy role (with his characters in
the long running drama E-Street and Heartbreak
High), playing Detective John Steel, who
interrogates the scared and confused Eddie
Fleming (Hugo Weaving). Fleming seems innocent
enough; and perhaps he his, but when his
apartment door is busted down by Steel and his
even-tougher-guy partner Wayne (Aaron Jeffery),
he is placed in a darkened interrogation room in
the Melbourne CBD. The charge: car theft.
Although Fleming is at first reluctant to talk,
when the subject changes from automobiles to
serial killings, he’s all words. And Steel
realizes that his predicament is far more complex
than what he once suspected.
Monahan beckons us to ask the questions that he
really loves not to answer. Is Fleming telling
the truth? Is he manipulating the situation to
his advantage? Is he a conniving criminal genius,
or an average no-hoper on the dole? Much to the
film’s advantage, he’s probably a
little of everything, and reminded me of Kevin
Spacey in The Usual Suspects. Both are
unremarkable little men who end up showing their
sinister-but-maybe-not-sinister colours.
· Played the lead
role of Martin Elliot in the play
“Scam” at The Belvoir
Theatre in 1999. Elliot was a mediocre banker
during the bull market, who

increase his personal wealth The
play toured to Perth’s Regal Theatre in
2000. It co-stared John Howard, Roy
Billings and Diane Craig.

mystery writer on an exotic paradise island in a
20 minute short

Flickerfest 2001, and won

Film. The actors received
considerable praise. It co-starred Kick Gurry,
Paul Pantano and Gary Sweet.
· At The Stables
Theatre in 2000, he played the censor in a short
season of
a two-actor play called “The Censor”.

![Rachael Censor](rachaelcensor.jpg)
UK writer Anthony
Neilson has scribbled for Prime Suspect, Cracker
and other grit-Brit TV shows. He also writes
plays - and this one scored him the 1997 UK
Writers' Guild Award for Best New Play and the
London TimeOut Award for Best New Play at the
Fringe.
It stars Rachael Blake as a director of
nicely-naughty porn flicks, Tony Martin as the
censor who wants to put and end to all this filth
and Jinny McCallister as Mrs Censor.
Many revelations about sex, eroticism and the
politics of prudishness are promised. Of course,
it'd never happen in such a free, open,
expressive and tolerant country like this one.
