PRAYER TO THE HIGHEST GOOD

God of the highest good give me grace to be good

For unto you my face does always look

For no one else can be call good but you

God of good grace me to be greatly good

 

God of the highest good, let me always be true

Let my life with greatness full

Let my moments with happiness prove

Let me drink always from the joyful brook

 

God of the highest good, no one is true but you

Let my life be a worthy book with wisdom full

Let fountains of knowledge be my food

Let me on great things always brood

 

God of the noblest good: you are good through and through

Let my life with great achievement full

Let thy great blessings attend to all I do

Be good with me: give me grace to be good

 

God of the purest good, in my heart always rule

Of thy goodness, OH! Lord! Make me a proof

Of thy blessings OH! Lord! Make me a tool

Main me among main men of truth and good.
