ATTRIBUTES AND SKILLS
This section deals with the attributes and skills of any given Storm Knight Player Character.
Once a character profile has been selected ((ill be posting them on the Webpage sometime soon)), the next step is to assign Values to his attributes, choose the characters skills, and assign skill adds to them. Lets begin with assigning attribute points.
ATTRIBUTE TEMPLATES

In Torg there are three different attribute templates ... those being Adrenaline, Willpower, and Presence. All corresponding to a group of base attributes.

Adrenaline represents the attributes of Dexterity, Strength, and Toughness.
Willpower represents the attributes of Perception, and Mind
Presence represents the attributes of Charisma and Spirit.

Each of the Attributes will have a value on your character sheet. Not to exceed the Cosm limits... as well there are other limits. If you look at your Template you will find that your character is based in one of the three Attribute templates. Being either Adrenaline, Willpower, or Presence. That is the main group of attributes your character has decided to concentrate on. Thus .. you are given your maximum Attributes by the following list:
ATTRIBUTE*** Adrenalin**Willpower**Presence
Dex***********11/X*******X/11********X/10
Str***********11/X********X/11********X/10
Tou***********11/X*******X/11********X/10
Per***********X/10********11/X********X/11
Min***********X/10*******11/X********X/11
Cha***********X/11*******X/10********11/X
Spi***********X/11********X/10********11/X
X=the minimum/maximum value is that of the Cosm or race of the character.

Now ... this is your base .. remember its not the end .. the Matrix above is simply explaining what your minimum and maximum stat in any given template should reflect. In other words, if your character is made off of a ((adrenaline)) template ... well then ... your minimum Str would be 11 or it wouldnt be a adrenaline based character ... same could be said with Dex and Toughness. Also at the same time ... your maximum Spi with a Adrenaline based character would be 11 .. you are not allowed to have a Spi at the creation of that character over 11.

ASSIGNING ATTRIBUTE POINTS
Each character is assigned a total of 66 attribute points to assign to there Attributes ... Keep in to consideration the Table above and assign your attributes to the skills as you wish. However keep in mind all other limits that might apply .. such as Cosm limits. Also keep in mind that some special functions in the game might either add or remove the original 66 points. Example: the Use of Martial Arts Gives players an extra 3 points. Thus, a total of 69 points to be allocated.

SKILLS AND SKILL CATEGORIES

Each character profile includes the characters tag skill as well as the number of skills from each skill category that the character is allowed to start with. Skill categories are a way of grouping skills according to the attribute (or group of attributes)that the skills are based on. There are three attribute templates: Adrenaline, Willpower, and Presence. Each skill category contains all the skills that are based on the attributes of that template group. Of course, since there are no Toughness skills, the adrenaline category only covers Strength and Dexterity skills.
The number of skills of each category available to each Character Profile is found under the "skill notes" heading of the profile. Each Character profile has "primary" , "Secondary" , and "Tertiary" skill categories (indicating 1st, 2nd, and 3rd). The primary skill category will always reflect the type of template it is. In other words a "Prize Fighter" would obviously be a "Adrenaline" template. Thus .. the primary Skills would most assuredly be Adrenaline skills .. meaning Str and Dex based skills. The Secondary and Tertiary skill categories would be the second and third skill groups that would be in declining order of importance to that character template.
Characters may choose ANY NUMBER of skills from their primary skill category. A player may choose up to FIVE skills listed as his secondary skills .. and finally up to THREE in there Tertiary skill group.
You will notice on your Character Profile that you have something listed as a (Tag) skill. You MUST have that listed in your line up of skills on your character sheet .. IT IS A FREE SKILL... DO NOT deduct it from your amount of skills you are allowed to have. ALSO.... all characters are possibility Rated .... meaning Storm Knights. Thus, all characters have a Spirit attribute related skill called REALITY. This skill is free as well. It does not count toward your total of skills. Its free.

Keep in mind as well .. there are certain skills that are usable only by patrons of certain Cosms. For instance ... Occult skill, this can only be used by natives or those transformed in to Characters from the land of Orrorsh. I will be posting a Master List of skills ... where they come from ((meaning Cosm)) soon on the Torg Web Page for easy viewing.
SELECTING SKILLS AND ASSIGNING SKILL ADDS

After assigning your storm knights attribute points, its time to assign the storm knights skills and assign skill (adds).
Each Storm Knight has 16 (adds) to distribute to there chosen skills. Three of these adds MUST be allocated to there ((Tag)) skill. Also at least ONE must be put in there ((Reality)) skill. Finally ... no more then 3 of the remaining 12 skill adds may be allocated to any skill. This is the maximum amount of adds any character ((starting off)) may have in one skill. Later, while playing, Characters will be afforded the opportunity to raise there Adds in skills threw playing.
NOTE: AYSLE MAGICIANS MAY HAVE UP TO FOUR ADDS IN THERE TAG MAGICAL SKILL IF IT IS ALSO THERE BIRTH MAGIC.

((Side note)) Some skills require more then one skill add to be spent to acquire there first skill add in a given skill. Martial Arts is an example of this. If such a skill is chosen, then the specific situation of that chosen skill must be adhered to, as usual. The total number of adds spend are subtracted from the Character Profiles allotment for that category. If the character cannot pay all the points necessary, then he must get rid of something else or wait until after an adventure. See individual skill descriptions for details.

Example ... Jon is making his character "Dark Eyes" ... he has chosen all his skills already and now is ready to place his Skill adds. He starts with 16 .. 3 go to his Tag skill which happens to be ((Melee weapons)) ... One more comes off for reality ... leaving 12 more to go ... he puts 2 in Dodge, 2 in Fire combat, 2 in Stealth .... now he wants to put 3 in Disguise, and 2 in Find. Oh no ... Jon screwed up .. Jon wanted to put some skill adds in Martial Arts .. the First skill add in Martial arts costs 3 skill points. So now Jon removes the 3 skill adds in Disguise ... he re-allocates them to Martial arts .. however .. the three adds spent in the skill of Martial Arts ((due to a special rule with that specific skill)) actually buys the FIRST skill point to be recorded on your character sheet. So Basically, it takes 3 skill points to buy the first skill add in Martial arts. But remember this is a special ruling for this specific skill. There are others like it. I will be including a full list and rulings on all skills along with descriptions of the skills as well on the webpage when I
have time.
