 Qatar Chemical Company, in Messaied, Qatar, is a world-class petrochemical plant producing 500,000 MTA Ethylene, 460,000 MTA high-density polyethylene  (HDPE) and metallocene linear low-density polyethylene (mLLDPE) and 47,000 MTA of 1-Hexene.

 

Accountabilities

Instrument & Electrical Planner

Develop, Plan and implement PM’s and PM documentation during the stage development, implementation & production of SAP (System Application & Products) R/3 – CMMS.

Scrutinize technical quotes received from vendors & contractors. Indent materials required to maintain inventory and also inspect when procured before using in plant.

Provide support to Engineering, Operations and Warehouse to optimize specific work activities

Supervise Electrical, Instrument & Analyzer Technicians for Maintenance of Electrical Power Distribution, Variable Drive systems, Instrumentation, PLC, Gas Chromatograph online analyzers, plant control instrumentation systems in the absence of I&E Engineer.

Conduct daily planning meeting with Production Staff to discuss status of current jobs and to agree/coordinate on next days work schedule considering the priority, availability of equipment & resources.

Promoted to Maintenance Trainer

Arranging short technical training as per needs, maintaining the quality of training in a high standard,.

Maintaining training management Data Base,

Liaison work with QP training center who were affiliated with TAFE curriculum.(Australian competency framework). Deliver safety training like Permit to Work, Hazard awareness, LockOutTagOut, Confined Space Hazards, etc to the new employees as a part of General Orientation training.

 Refinery is one of the biggest refineries in the Middle East (UAE). Its crude processing capability is nearly 300,000 BPSD.

Accountabilities

As a Planner prepared Work Orders, Assigned Resources & Spares for the required job. Followed up progress of job task and closed Work Orders based on the status of the job. Prepared schedule for preventive maintenance of all instruments in the plant based on the degree of criticality & ambient conditions.

As a Sr. Instrument Technician carried out Corrective maintenance jobs on MSF, Boiler, Seawater & Water treatment plants, Reformers.  Servicing & calibration of Differential pressure transmitters, Maintenance& servicing of belt misalignment switches, pull cord switches, motion switches, tilt switches, vibration switches, weigh scales, encoders, vortex flow meters, turbine flow meters, MOV’s, Anemometer, metal detectors, Blockage sensors. 

Trouble shooting faults in DCS system of Bailey ‘Symphony’ and replace defective parts including Power modules, I/O modules, Communication modules and Operator Station consoles. Interpreting CAD drawings using WinTools & Composer through the Engineering Work Station.
