In light of the recent shooting in
Massachusetts, let's see, I think it started when Madeline Murray O'Hare
complained she didn't want any prayer in our schools, and we said OK.
Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school.... the Bible
that says thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, and love your
neighbor as yourself. And we said, OK. Dr. Benjamin Spock said we
shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave because their little
personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem. And
we said, an expert should know what he's talking about so we said
OK, we won't spank them anymore. Then someone said teachers and
principals better not discipline our children when they misbehave. And
the school administrators said no faculty member in this school better
touch a student when they misbehave because we don't want any bad
publicity, and we surely don't want to be sued. (There's a big
difference between disciplining and touching, beating, smacking, humiliating,
kicking, etc. And we accepted their reasoning. Then someone said, let's
let our daughters have abortions if they want, and they won't even have
to tell their parents. And we said, that's a grand idea. Then some wise
school board member said, since boys will be boys and they're going to
do it anyway, let's give our sons all the condoms they want, so they can
have all the fun they desire, and we won't have to tell their parents
they got them at school. And we said, that's another great idea. Then
some of our top elected officials said it doesn't matter what we do in
private as long as we do our jobs. And agreeing with them, we said
it doesn't matter to me what anyone, including the President, does in
private as long as I have a job and the economy is good. And then
someone said let's print magazines with pictures of nude women and call
it wholesome, down-to-earth appreciation for the beauty of the female
body. And we said we have no problem with that. And someone else took
that appreciation a step further and published pictures of nude children
and then stepped further still by making them available on the internet.
And we said they're entitled to there free speech. And the entertainment
industry said, let's make TV shows and movies that promote profanity,
violence, and illicit sex. And let's record music that encourages rape,
drugs, murder, suicide, and satanic themes. And we said it's just
entertainment, it has no adverse effect, and nobody takes it seriously
anyway, so go right ahead. Now we're asking ourselves why our children
have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it
doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.
Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it
out. I think it has a great deal to do with "WE REAP WHAT WE
SOW."
Dear God, Why didn't you save the little girl in Michigan? Sincerely, Concerned Student AND THE REPLY Dear Concerned Student, I am not allowed in schools. Sincerely, God. Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says. Funny how everyone wants to go to heaven provided they do not have to believe, think, say, or do anything the Bible says. Funny how someone can say, "I believe in God" but still follow Satan who, by the way, also "believes" in God. Funny how we are quick to judge but not to be judged. Funny how you can send a thousand 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing. Funny how the lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene pass freely through Cyberspace, but the public discussion of Jesus is suppressed in the school and workplace. Funny how someone can be so fired up for Christ on Sunday, but be an invisible Christian the rest of the week. Are you laughing? Funny how when you go to forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it to them. Funny how I can be more worried about what other people think of me than what God thinks of me. Are you thinking?

Did you ever study a picture or an image of your suffering Savior?
Study the touching picture of the dying Christ. Note the weary, aching, thorn-crowned Head; the sacred face defiled with spittle; the parched lips; the pierced hands; the bruised and bleeding body. As you make this simple meditation you will recall that he, the sinless one, the God-Man, suffered and died for you. When your crosses seem to crush your aching heart; when you feel discouraged and become erroneously convinced that no one cares, just pause for a moment and study the suffering Christ. You will feel a new strength within you, become more encouraged, bear your crosses more patiently. In a word you will be convinced that someone does care, more than you shall ever know. 1 John 3:16 – This is how we know what love is : Christ gave his life for us. |

Are
You BUSY?
I think the lessons here are broadly applicable to all, regardless of religious belief. from
going to church." "We can't keep them from reading their
Bibles and knowing the truth." "We can't even keep them from
forming an intimate relationship with their savior." "Once
they gain that connection with Jesus, our power over them is
broken." "So let them go to their churches; let them have
their covered dish dinners, but steal their time, so they don't have
time to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ." "Keep them busy in the nonessentials of life and invent innumerable schemes to occupy their minds," he answered. "Tempt them to spend, spend, spend, and borrow, borrow, borrow." "Persuade the wives to go to work for long hours and the husbands to work 6-7 days each week, 10-12 hours a day, so they can afford their empty lifestyles." "Keep them from spending time with their children." "As their families fragment, soon, their homes will offer no escape from the pressures of work!" "Over-stimulate their minds so that they cannot hear that still, small voice." "Entice them to play the radio or cassette player whenever they drive." "To keep the TV, VCR, CDs and their PCs going constantly in their home and see to it that every store and restaurant in the world plays non-biblical music constantly." "This will jam their minds and break that union with Christ." "Fill the coffee tables with magazines and newspapers." "Pound their minds with the news 24 hours a day." "Invade their driving moments with billboards." "Flood their mailboxes with junk mail, mail order catalogs, sweepstakes, and every kind of newsletter and promotional offering free products, services and false hopes." "Keep skinny, beautiful models on the magazines and TV so their husbands will believe that outward beauty is what's important, and they'll become dissatisfied with their wives." "Keep
the wives too tired to love their husbands at night." "Give
them headaches too!" "If they don't give their husbands the
love they need, they will begin to look elsewhere." "That
will fragment their families quickly!" "Give
them Santa Claus to distract them from teaching their children the
real meaning of Christmas." "Give them an Easter bunny so
they won't talk about his resurrection and power over sin and
death." "Even
in their recreation, let them be excessive." "Have them
return from their recreation exhausted." "Keep
them too busy to go out in nature and reflect on God's creation."
"Send them to amusement parks, sporting events, plays, concerts,
and movies instead." "Keep them busy, busy, busy!"
"And when they meet for spiritual fellowship, involve them in
gossip and small talk so that they leave with troubled
consciences." "Crowd
their lives with so many good causes they have no time to seek power
from Jesus." "Soon they will be working in their own
strength, sacrificing their health and family for the good of the
cause." "It
will work!" "It
will work!" It
was quite a plan! The demons went eagerly to their assignments causing
Christians everywhere to get more busy and more rushed, going here and
there. Having little time for their God or their families. Having
no time to tell others about the power of Jesus to change lives. I
guess the question is, has the devil
been successful at his scheme? You be the judge! ?

One night in a church service a young woman
felt the tug of God at her heart. She responded to God's call and
accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. The young woman had a very rough
past, involving alcohol, drugs, and prostitution. But, the change in her
was evident. As time went on she became a faithful member of the church.
She eventually became involved in the ministry, teaching young children.
It was not very long until this Faithful young woman had caught the eye
and heart of the pastor's son. The relationship grew and they began to
make wedding plans. This is when the problems began. You see, about one
half of the church Did not think that a woman with a past such as hers
was suitable for a pastor's son. The church began to argue and fight
about the matter. So they decided to have a meeting.
As the people made their arguments and tensions increased, the meeting was getting completely out of hand. The young woman became very upset about all the things being brought up about her past. As she began to cry the pastor's son stood to speak. He could not bear the pain it was causing his wife to be. He began to speak and his statement was this: " My fiancie's past is not what is on trial here. What you are questioning is the ability of The blood of Jesus to wash away sin.Today you have put the blood of Jesus on trial. So, does it wash away sin or not?" The whole church began to weep as they realized that they hadbeen slandering the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Too often, even as Christians, we bring up the past and use it as a weapon against our brothers and sisters. Forgiveness is a very foundational part of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. If the blood of Jesus does not cleanse the other person completely then it cannot cleanse us completely. If that is the case, then we are all in a lot of trouble. What can wash away my sins, nothing but the blood of Jesus....end of case!!! |
Once
there were three trees on a hill in the woods. They were discussing their
hopes and dreams when the first tree said, "Someday I hope to be a
treasure chest. Could be filled with gold, silver and precious gems. I
could be decorated with intricate carving and everyone would see the
beauty." Then the second tree said, "Someday I will be a mighty ship. I will take kings and queens across the waters and sail to the corners of the world. Everyone will feel safe in me because of the strength of my hull." Finally the third tree said, "I want to grow to be the tallest and straightest tree in the forest. People will see me on top of the hill and look up to my branches, and think of the heavens and God and how close to them I am reaching. I will be the greatest tree of all time and people will always remember me." After a few years of praying that their dreams would come true, a group of woodsmen came upon the trees. When one came to the first tree he said, "This looks like a strong tree, I think I should be able to sell the wood to a carpenter," and he began cutting it down. The tree was happy, because he knew that the carpenter would make him into a treasure chest. At the second tree the woodsman said, "This looks like a strong tree, I should be able to sell it to the shipyard." The second tree was happy because he knew he was on his way to becoming a mighty ship. When the woodsmen came upon the third tree, the tree was frightened because he knew that if they cut him down his dreams would not come true. One of the woodsmen said, "I don't need anything special from my tree, so I'll take this one", and he cut it down. When the first tree arrived at the carpenters, he was made into a feed box for animals. He was then placed in a barn and filled with hay. This was not at all what he had prayed for. The second tree was cut and made into a small fishing boat. His dreams of being a mighty ship and carrying kings had come to an end. The third tree was cut into large pieces and left alone in the dark. The years went by, and the trees forgot about their dreams. Then one day, a man and woman came to the barn. She gave birth and they placed the baby in the hay in the feed box that was made from the first tree. The man wished that he could have made a crib for the baby, but this manger would have to do. The tree could feel the importance of this event and knew that it had held the greatest treasure of all time, Jesus. Years later, a group of men got in the fishing boat made was tired and went to sleep. While they were out on the water, a great storm arose and the tree didn't think it was strong enough to keep the men safe. The men woke the sleeping man, and He stood and said "Peace" and the storm stopped. At this time, the tree knew that it had carried the King of Kings in its boat. Finally, someone came and got the third tree. It was carried through the streets as the people mocked the man who was carrying it. When they came to a stop, the man was nailed to the tree and raised in the air to die at the top of a hill. When Sunday came, the tree came to realize that it was strong enough to stand at the top of the hill and be as close to God as was possible, because Jesus had been crucified on it. The moral of this story is that when things don't seem to be going your way, always know that God has a plan for you. If you place your trust in Him, He will give you great gifts. Each of the trees got what they wanted, just not in the way they had imagined. We don't always know what God's plans are for us. We just know that His ways are not our ways, but His ways are always best. |

The road to success is not straight.
There is a curve called Failure, a loop called Confusion, speed bumps
called Friends, red lights called Enemies, caution lights called Family.
You will have flats called Jobs. But, if you have a spare called
Determination, an engine called Perseverance, insurance called Faith,
and a driver called Jesus, you will make it to a place called SUCCESS.
