The Update PCB for this Amplifier Module is available Now! , It features improved bandwidth, much better Thermal compensation for the MOSFET O/P stage. This modification also allows the use of IRF Devices to be used with this design. Which previously was a problem due to the special thermal control requirements needed for these devices.

Updated schematic of Symmetrical Amplifier

The Amplifier is fully designed and built be me and was first published in Silicon Chip Magazine in June 1994 as a Power Amplifier Module and has been sold all over Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Ceylon, Malaysia and Greece.
It has a power rating of 230 Watts RMS into 8 Ohms Per Channel and 400 Watts RMS into 4 Ohms Per Channel.
Total Harmonic Distortion is typically 0.005%, Signal to Noise Ratio of -122dB unweighted(20Hz to 20Khz)
A-weighted -126dB, Damping Factor Greater than 200 at 8 Ohms. The Power supply is a conventional unregulated supply, consisting of a 600VA Toroidal Transformer with 24000uF electrolytic capacitors per voltage rail.
