Taco Casserole

An Ash -housing favorite

Ingredients:

1 lb ground beef

1 can(15 oz) chili beans

1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce

2 Tbsp taco sauce

2 to 4 tsp chili powder

1 tsp garlic powder

2 cups coarsely broken tortilla chips

1 cup sour cream

1/2 cup sliced green onions( with tops)

1 medium tomato, chopped ( about 3/4 cup)

1 cup shredded cheddar or Monterey jack cheese

 

Directions: Heat oven to 350F. Cook ground beef in skillet until brown; drain. Stir in beans, tomato sauce, taco sauce, chili powder, garlic powder; heat to boiling, stirring occasionally. Place tortilla chips in ungreased 2 quart casserole. Top with beef mixture. Spread sour cream over it. Sprinkle with onions, tomato and cheese. Bake uncovered 20 to 30 minutes or until hot  and bubbly. Arrange additional tortilla chips around the edges of casserole. Serve with shredded lettuce, chili peppers and taco sauce.
