Daniel Sams in the lower order is also a serious striker of the ball even though he may not the most reliable batter around!
Essex has a great chance of matching Lancashire in terms of batting strength. IMportantly, Essex's best players are available and the team is well-settled.
Beard, Sams, Cook, and Allison will all form an important part of the bowling lineup. They have been quite good so far in terms of picking wickets and keeping the runs under control. We would look at Sams to play a leading role and betting on him is not a bad option at all.
