Kang Lau Shek(更樓石) is at the southeastern tip of

tung ping chau .here, tow sea stack measuring 7-8m

stand majestically on the wave cut platform(海蝕平台).

there are two groups of nearly vertical joints. the conditional was just right

for wave erosion(波浪侵蝕) .waves bought about hydraulic (水力)and abrasive actions(磨蝕作用),

hollowing out a marine lacuna(海蝕口). After  the long time and constant erosion, the wreathing and

block movement(地殼移動), which finally cause the upper part of lacuna to collapse(崩塌). it gave  a sea

cliff that is  a precipitous slope.

other rocks would eventually collapse at the impact of continued erosion, .the cliff kept withdrawing inland, leaving a gently sloping landform called wave-cut platform. harder rocks manage to withstand the pounding waves, and slowly gave rise to the two sea stacks we see today.
