The Angel of the Bitter Harvest

The Angel of the Bitter Harvest

This painting can be viewed as the opposite or negation of the 'Angel with the Moon and the Sun on her Wings.'
She gazes complacently at a bunch of dead or dying flowers and grains. She is a powerful queen, wearing a crown and a necklace of authority.
She can be viewed as a symbol of what we are doing to the earth with our Western agri-business. We are busy making wars and money, while forgetting the earth upon which we rely.

Oil on canvas. 36in x 24in (approx).
