I
have noticed that when the wind picks up in the bush, the trees bow and
sway.
They bend forwards and backwards, gracefully, each in time with all of
the
rest. They look as if they are dancing with each other.
It
is as if the bush remembers, and is dreaming of the past.
It is dreaming of the times when the
Aboriginal people, their culture and their ceremonies...and their
laughter and
singing and dancing, rang out through the bush.
These
trees, to me, feel like the souls of tribal people still dancing and
laughing.
Do they still remember long lost times?
The
two trees that I have painted look as if they have been frozen in their
dance.
So a timeless moment of beauty is created.
This
series of “Dancing Trees” paintings are
to remind people that we are not the first to live in this land!
Oil on canvas.
