Rose Crowned Fruit Doves

Loud calls in the treetops, falling fruit,
quick whistling flights
a rich rose crown.
hook-coo! uk-coo uk-coo!
The little dove climbs for fruit,
displays and skirmishes on exposed branches.
comes into parks and gardens and farms.
Sometimes abundant,
it often goes unobserved
in the dense vegetation.
Nomadic and gregarious.
occasionally flocks
where fruit is abundant.
coo-coo-coo-coo-coo!
