Brand New Day (Sunrise over Springbrook) 2
A second version of the 'Sunrise over Springbrook' series. I have been
a
bit cheeky with these paintings by adopting the title 'Brand New Day'
from the song by "Yothu Yindi" - an Aboriginal rock group that I
greatly admire - because the theme of the song 'Brand New Day' carries
the concept of Reconciliation and a new beginning for Australians both
white and black.
This is a quite large painting and it is even more confronting than the
first version. The second version (not shown on this web site) is much
smaller but developed the 'eye of the sun' concept that distinguishs
this painting from the first.
Oil on canvas. 175cm x 95cm (68 x 37 in approx).
