BAND. WHO CREATED IT, WHEN AND WHICH IS THE CURRENT LINEUP?
Anthenora was born in 1990, created
by Fabio Smareglia, Luigi Bonansea and Stefano Pomero. who were playng
together in another band. in the years we change twice the line up.
The current line up is:

2.THE BAND NAME WAS INSPIRED BY DANTE'S
INFERNO. CAN YOU TELL US WHAT ANTHENORA IS IN DANTE ALIGHIERI'S MASTERPIECE?
Anthenora is one of the place of
dante's Inferno: the place where are condamned the traitors of the homeland.
3.YOU EXIST SO MANY YEARS! HOW COME
HAVEN'T YOU TAKEN THE CHANCE WITH THIS RISE OF THE ITALIAN METAL SCENE
AND SIGN TO SOME RECORD LABEL?
Very simple! we don't play symphonic
or progressive power metal as the 99% of the most known italian bands.
we have a classic metal sound influenced by iroan maiden, judas priest
and teutonic metal. our roots are in the '80s and we don't want to change
our attitude to find a fucking deal.

SONGS YOU LIKE TO COVER MOSTLY AND WHY? WHICH IS YOUR FAVORITE IRON MAIDEN
ALBUM?
We love to play maiden's songs
in our shows. we like to perform Phantom of the opera, running free cause
these songs represent the furoius spirit of the early days of the british
band. these songs have the power to elettrify the odience in an incredible
way and that's great!
5.TELL US A FEW THINGS ABOUT YOUR NEW
EP "THE GENERAL'S AWAKENING" AND THE CO OPERATION WITH TONY "MAD" HONTO
(LEADER OF WHITE SKULL).
The general's awakening has been
recorded in april 2002 at the Remaster studio in Vicenza (italy), and represents
an anticipation of the forthcoming Anthenora's album. the ep has been produced
by tony "mad" fontò, leader of White Skull. this recording has changed
our sound. compared with our demo's, General's sounds heavier: the guitars
have been tuned low, gigi's voice is more aggressive than in the past.
Tony mad, as producer, has made a very good work. we share the same idea
of music and his way of working in studio was exactly what we need to make
a good work.
6.YOUR BASS PLAYER PLAYS ALSO TO ANOTHER
BAND CALLED "BROKEN ARROW". WHAT KIND OF MUSIC DO THEY PLAY? HAVE THEY
RELEASED ANYTHING? WHO ARE THE OTHER BROKEN ARROW MEMBERS?
Broken Arrow are a creature of
white skull's lead guitarist Nick savio. the debut album "abyss of darkness"
has been recorded at the well know New sin studio in Treviso and produced
by Gigi Stefanini (Domine, labyrinth, White Skull...).the line up includes:
davide baduena - vocals- (also playing with Aemerald),Steve balocco - bass
(from Anthenora of course!), nick Savio (guitar) and Giulio Bodoni (Key)
from White Skull, Camillo Collecuori (drums) from Garden Wall. the musc
played it's something between Black sabbath, Dio mixed with hard rock.
7.YOU HAVE PLAYED A LIVE SHOW WITH
PAUL DI ANNO. WHICH WERE YOUR FEELINGS, HAVING THE CHANCE TO PLAY WITH
THE FIRST IRON MAIDEN SINGER? HAS HE TREATED YOU WELL? HE HAS THE REPUTATION
OF A WEIRD AND DISTANT PERSON.
Well...to play with paul has been
a very great thing for us. we love the way he throng the stage and his
bad attitude but the problem is that his bad behaviour goes over the stage
and he is not really the kind of person that you could define "lovely"!!!
talkin about our experience we can say that everything has gone in a very
harmonious way. we had fun and all the people in Turin were crazy!
8.YOUR DRUMMER IS ENDORSER FOR "VIC
FIRTH" COMPANY. CAN YOU TELL US SOME MORE THINGS ABOUT IT?

is a well know american company of drumsticks that endorse the band and
for this we promote the name VicFirth on our productions.
9.WHAT ARE YOUR LYRICS TALKING ABOUT?
WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THEM? WHICH IS YOUR SOURCE OF INSPIRATION?
The lyrics of the general's are
ispired by the history, in particular the 2nd world war and by science
fiction. the lyrics are written by gigi, fabio and steve together.
10.WHICH WERE THE REACTIONS OF THE
FANS AND PRESS? WHICH WAS THE BEST AND WHICH WAS THE WORST REVIEW YOU HAVE
RECEIVED?
The ep will be realised in the
2nd half of september and so we don't have yet the complet idea of how
will be the reactions of the press. we can say that the first answer that
we had has been very good. Chris Bolthendal, singer of Grave Digger, has
appreciaed the ep and some journalist has given very good advices so we
are optimist.
11.ARE YOU STILL SATISFIED WITH YOUR
LATEST WORK OR IS THERE ANYTHING YOU'D LIKE TO CHANGE? WHICH SONG DO YOU
THINK IS THE MOST IDEAL TO REPRESENT YOUR WORK?
We are very sartisfied with our
latest work and even if the best work is always the one that will come,
we wouldn't change anything of this ep.. the general's represents very
well the actual sound of anthenora.
12.HOW ARE YOU PLANNING TO PROMOTE
YOUR WORK? WHICH ARE YOUR FUTURE PLANS?
We are a live band so one of the
best way we know to promote our msuic is to play averywhere. the second
important way that we will is spread our music on the web metal community
from south america to... greece -of course- and where ever we can find
a "metal tribe".

It' very hard to answer. each song
is a part of the whole. we like the ep in its totality. even if we think
that we could improve as a band, we wouldn't change anything of this ep.

we're jocking. we are sure that we are the best band in the world even
if we wouldn't have the same success of metallica.
