Life
is absurd and difficult and we are confronted with many bad situations
and feelings. B-Code are here to awaken us with their music and make us
realize that we shouldn’t be manipulated.
1. FIRST OF ALL POINT OUT THE MOST
IMPORTANT MOMENTS OF THE BAND’S HISTORY AND INTRODUCE YOURSELVES TO THE
READERS.
The band was born in May 2002,
by me, Stefano (voice), Marco (drums), Francesco (guitar) and Piero (bass).
Everyone comes from different musical infuences but Intensifing the studio’s
works,the sound gradually becomes more mature and aggressive, and the idea
to make something more original pushed the band to look for one more guitar
player, Edoardo that entered in December 2002.
2. SINCE I DIDN’T HAVE THE CHANCE TO
LISTEN TO YOUR MUSIC, PLEASE TRY TO EXPLAIN TO THE READERS YOUR MUSICAL
STYLE AND NAME SOME OF THE BAND’S INFLUENCES AND MOST BELOVED ALBUMS.
The band's influences come from
hard rock to stoner, from grunge to metal.. We haven’t a specific reference,
at least the covers that we make are, for example, Deftones, Drowing Pool,
Faith No More, But we are looking for our own sound, cause I think that
it’s too important for the development of every member .
3. TELL US A FEW GENERAL THINGS ABOUT
YOUR DEMO. WHERE WAS IT RECORDED? WHO WAS THE PRODUCER? HOW LONG DID IT
TAKE YOU? WHAT DO YOU WANT TO ACHIEVE WITH IT?
After one year of work, in March
2003, we decided to produce alone this first Promo (Without Color) choosing
the Temple of Noise studio's, to understand what was our real sound and
to make us show to the people the effect that these songs have on them.
This was an important step, hoping to realize in one year a CD.
4. YOUR BAND NAME IS QUITE STRANGE.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN? DO YOU HAVE TO SUGGEST ANYTHING IN SPECIFIC WITH IT?
Oh yes, it’s quite strange… for
us it means like “be codifies” or “bar code”… and it’s a provocation; we
want to let the people think of a reason that all of us can be, b-code…
in a right and bad way.
5. WHERE ARE YOUR LYRICS REFERRING
TO? TELL US SOME GENERAL THINGS ABOUT THEM. WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO WRITE
LYRICS?
The lyrics are based on social
topics and emotions tied on reflection moments even if it’s not easy to
describe them…an emotion can only be lived. For example “Machine” refers
to the relationship that the young guys have with the virtual world, “Wall”
is about the power of the mind, “Without color” talks about an obliged
life with no choice, and “At the crossroads” too difficult to explain,
I think that everyone can give it his personal interpretation.
6. WHAT KIND OF PROCEDURE DO YOU FOLLOW
WHILST COMPOSING SONGS? DO YOU TRY TO FOCUS ON AN EVENT, A SITUATION OR
A FEELING IN ORDER TO KEEP A SPECIFIC FEELING? AFTER ALL DON'T WE SAY THAT
AN ARTIST CAN BETTER EXPRESS HIMSELF THROUGH BITTER AND HARD TIMES? DID
IT WORK WITH B-CODE?
Sure, we all write about our lives
in the songs, sometimes very hard and sad, sometimes so sweet, and by writing
down this sensation we fight!!! Melody and anger can’t be expressed if
u don’t have them inside… and when one of us presents a base of his
songs, the other interpret it by the emotion they receive… the same is
jamming something together, but all must have always a thread conductor…
7. DO YOU HAVE ANY NEW SONGS READY?
WHICH ARE YOUR PLANS FOR THE FUTURE? ARE YOU UNDER NEGOTIATIONS WITH LABELS?
This is a much creative period
for us, we have a lot of stimulates, and we are taking the max advantage
of it, after this Promo, we created 2 new songs. We hope to find
a label through this demo and go up on all the possible venues.
8. DO YOU HAVE ANY PLANS FOR LIVE APPEARANCES?
Yeah in September we’ll start to
do some live shows. The next year must be full of news and live appearances,
and we hope to play everywhere if possible.
9. WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO SOMEONE THAT
IS NOT FAMILIAR WITH YOUR MUSIC TO ATTRACT HIS ATTENTION? WHICH IS THE
MOST RECOGNIZABLE ELEMENT IN YOUR MUSIC?
The Passion and anger are the basic
elements, so lets just listen to the songs with a critical spirit. We don’t
like discrimination.
10. IF YOUR MUSIC WERE AN EMOTION,
WHAT WOULD IT BE? IF IT WERE A PAINTING, WHAT WOULD IT SHOW?

FROM YOUR DEMO, WHICH WOULD THAT BE AND IF YOU HAD THE MONEY TO MAKE AN
EXPENSIVE VIDEO CLIP, HOW DO YOU IMAGINE IT TO BE?
Maybe “without color”… in white
and black and all based on a young guy that becomes a man…
12.IF YOU HAD THE CHANCE TO MEET THE
CREATURE THAT CREATED THE UNIVERSE, WHICH WOULD YOU TELL HIM WAS HIS MOST
SERIOUS MISTAKE?
I never imagined this thing, maybe
I wish like to know why He gives to the people the possibility to decide
who can live and who must die, who can be rich and who not.
13.IF WE LIVED IN A WORLD WITHOUT ANY
MUSIC, WHAT WOULD YOU DO? HOW WOULD YOU PIPE ALL YOUR FEELINGS AND NEGATIVE
ENERGY?
Maybe constructing something… but
I don’t know what!
