Bloodstained
The first time I saw
this band was on a live show of JAG PANZER. BLOODSTAINED were the opening
act and realy took me by surprise with their rough heavy metal sound and
how bonded they were on the scene. So if you like GRAVE DIGGER and JAG
PANZER sound then I am sure that BLOODSTAINED new work will play for a
long time in your CD player...
1.HELLO! ALTHOUGH BLOODSTAINED IS A NEW BAND
ITS MEMBERS ARE VETERANS IN THE GREEK METAL SCENE. SO, TELL US A FEW THINGS
ABOUT YOU. WHEN DID YOU DECIDE TO FORM THIS BAND AND WHY?

The oldest guy in the band, Angelos have taken
part in many bands like Phantom Lord, Power Crew, Mystery and some more,
which I can not recall at the moment. Myself and Giorgos were at the same
group ( Secret Show) and Stavros was already playing with ex - Fading Reality.
Somewhere between 2000 and 2001 we all met together and decided to make
a band, through which each member could freely write songs according to
their own influences and likes.
2.YOUR SOUND IS A MIXTURE OF THE TEUTONIC AND
THE U.S. METAL SCENE. DO YOU AGREE? WHICH BANDS INFLUENCED YOUR STYLE?
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF GRAVE DIGGER AND JAG PANZER?

I will definitely agree with you. Of course that
is something that cannot be done by purpose. It’s a matter of influences
and the fact that we all like bands like Grave Digger or Brainstorm or
Primal Fear and Squealer as long with Jag Panzer or Pantera, Cage etc.
We were lucky enough to play and meet J.P. and to see what a great band
they really are. I think they deserve more recognition from the metal scene
in general. What can we say about Grave Digger? Either way, they belong
to our favorites.
3.THE ALBUM IS ENTITLED "GREETINGS FROM HELL".
WHAT DO YOU WANT TO SAY WITH IT? IS IT SOMEHOW A CONNECTING IDEA BEHIND
ALL THE SONGS INCLUDED HERE?

No nothing like that really. G.F.H. was the first
track we wrote as one, all together, and we decided to honor it by giving
to the album its name.
4.IF I AM NOT MISTAKEN, YOU ARE THE FIRST GREEK
METAL BAND THAT BEFORE SIGNING A DEAL, PLAYED LIVE IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY.
HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THIS? IS IT TRUE OR JUST RUMORS THAT THE METALHEADS
AND LABELS ABROAD ARE PREOCCUPIED WITH BANDS THAT COME FROM GREECE? PLEASE
TELL US YOUR OPINION FROM THE EXPERIENCE YOU GAINED IN GERMANY...

It was a great honor of us and we were also lucky
as well cause we surely gained many useful experiences. We managed to play
well enough and we gained our ticket for this year, where we are going
to perform in a metal fest called Headbangers Open Air at the 9th and 10th
of July. Now, if I judge from the way the German audience responded, I
wouldn’t say that there is something beyond that. It is time for us to
show them that good efforts always exist.
5.YOUR ALBUM IS VERY GOOD, BUT SOMEHOW I HAVE
THE FEELING THAT BLOODSTAINED CAN OFFER US EVEN GREATER STUFF IN THE FUTURE
TO COME. WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT "GREETINGS FROM HELL"? ARE THERE SOME
THINGS OR IDEAS YOU'D LIKE TO DEVELOP MORE AND YOU LEFT THEM FOR THE NEXT
RELEASE?

Our first album was made under many difficulties
in many ways. Now, things are different. We have a good label to
support us and I think that things will get better. I think that we are
more bonded now and we have some fresh ideas as well. I really hope it
will work out for us.
6.WILL YOU CONTINUE COOPERATING WITH CULT METAL
CLASSICS FOR THE NEXT ALBUM AS WELL OR IS IT EARLY TO TALK ABOUT SUCH THINGS?
ARE YOU SATISFIED WITH THE CURRENT STATE OF THINGS?

We already have agreed to record a second album
with C.M.C. and that’s because we are very pleased with the current situation.
They are really good guys and they were there when we most needed them,
so there is no point in changing that.
7.YOU ARE PRESENTED AS CRIMINALS IN THE CD BOOKLET.
WHOSE IDEA WAS IT TO DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT? AREN'T YOU AFRAID THAT SOME
PEOPLE MIGHT BE OFFENDED OR INTERPRET IT THE WRONG WAY?

It was an idea that was in our minds for a long
time. I thing it’s original and it has some kind of fun as well. I don’t
think that we will offend anyone, since through our interviews we have
explained what is the purpose of that.
8.I READ IN THE BIO YOUR LABEL SENT ME THAT YOU
WILL PLAY IN MANY OPEN AIR FESTIVALS. SO CAN YOU BE MORE SPECIFIC AND TELL
US IN PARTICULAR IN WHICH FESTIVALS YOU WILL PLAY? WILL YOU PLAY ABROAD
AGAIN?
9.I'VE SEEN YOU LIVE WITH JAG PANZER HERE IN THESSALONIKI
AND I SAW A VERY BONDED TOGETHER BAND. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR APPEARANCE
THAT NIGHT AND OF THE METALLERS HERE IN THESSALONIKI?

It was an outstanding evening. We were prepared
for this live but we didn’t expect from the people there to give us such
a wonderful night. Cause of them we managed to play as good as we could
and the same happens every time that we are on stage. We really hope we
can get the opportunity to play again in such metal audience.
10.YOU HAVE ONLY ONE GUITAR PLAYER. DO YOU THINK
OF ADDING ONE MORE IN ORDER TO OFFER MORE IMPACT TO YOUR SOUND, ESPECIALLY
ON LIVE SHOWS OR IS BLOODSTAINED A BAND THAT DOESN'T HAVE SPACE FOR ONE
MORE PERSON?

The formation of the band has been already sealed
from a long time. There is no room left for any other instrument
or another person in the band.
11.YOU ALSO MADE A VIDEO CLIP FOR THE SONG "RELATED
TO DANGER". WHO WAS THE DIRECTOR AND WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS SONG? PERSONALLY,
I'D RATHER SEE "PRISONERS OF TIME" AS A CLIP.

Actually we were the directors of that along with
the help of Lefteris P. of Inveracity, whom we thank a lot. Related
To Danger was a choice we had to take because the particular lyrics, match
with the album photos.
12.THIS QUESTIONS IS FOR AGGELOS: WHY DID YOU
LEAVE PHANTOM LORD AND HOW ARE YOUR RELATIONS WITH THE OTHER GUYS? WILL
THEY CONTINUE AS A BAND OR AFTER LOSING THEIR CONTRACT WITH BLACK LOTUS
RECORDS THEY'VE DECIDED TO DISBAND?

Angelos: I left for personal reasons that don’t
matter right now. The relation we have with the rest of the guys is just
fine and its like nothing has changed. Life goes on.
13.IF YOUR MUSIC WERE AN EMOTION, WHAT WOULD IT
BE? IF IT WERE A PAINTING, WHAT WOULD IT SHOW?

If music was a feeling? Isn’t it? I think it’s
a feeling of rage mainly for the things that take place around us every
day. If it was a picture I’d say that it would be a sea of fists in the
air under a huge universal scene.
14.WHICH ARE, ACCORDING TO YOU, THE MOST IMPORTANT
WOMEN IN THE ROCK/METAL SCENE?

Many women have passed through the metal scene
and left remarkable samples such as Doro (!!!!!!) or groups like Sinergy
and Girlschool and I m sure many more that don’t come across my mind
right now
