CARRIER FLUX
CARRIER FLUX IMPRESSED US WITH THEIR NEW ALBUM CAUSE THEY MANAGED TO MIX DIFFERENT STYLES OF MUSIC AND CREATE A VERY STRANGE SOUND. THE MOST INTERESTING IS THAT CARRIER FLUX ARE ONE MAN BAND. SO WE GRAB THE OPPORTUMITY AND COMUNICATE WITH THE BAND. HERE ARE WHAT WE 'VE SAID...

1.WHICH ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT MOMENTS OF THE BAND'S HISTORY? HOW
DID YOU DECIDE TO FORM A BAND OF YOUR OWN? DID YOU DO IT CAUSE YOU WANT TO HAVE A 100% ARTISTIC FREEDOM? ARE YOU THINKING OF HAVING PERMANENT MEMBERS?
The project just kind of evolved over time. I've done other bands with other people and at the same time I have always been doing Carrier Flux on my own since no one else really wanted to do exactly what I did. Also I feel it's a lot easier to construct songs on my own than with a group of  people. I might use session musicians on future albums.
2.WHAT DOES CARRIER FLUX MEAN? HOW DID YOU INSPIRE THIS NAME? WHAT DOES
IT MEAN TO YOU?
The name just kind of happened. I thought it sounded cool.
3.TELL US A FEW THINGS FOR YOUR ALBUM "IN WASTE". WHEN WAS IT RECORDED, HOW, WHERE, DID YOU USE ANY SESSION MUSICIANS?
The album was recorded at my house and took about a year and a half to finish. It was recorded using my home computer with Cakewalk and a soundblaster live soundcard. The drums were written using a program called Fruity Loops on all but two songs which I used drum machines on. There were no session musicians, but I multitracked in cakewalk so I could have 2-4 tracks of bass, 2-8 tracks of guitar, keyboards, and 1-10 tracks of vocals on all parts.
4.DON'T YOU THINK THAT A MUSIC WOULD BE BETTER IF IT WAS ENRICHED WITH
THE MUSICAL IDEAS OF MORE THAN ONE PEOPLE? DOESN'T THE FACT THAT IT'S
THE MIXTURE OF SO MANY DIFFERENT PERSONALITITES AND TASTES MAKE IT MORE INTERESTING? WHY DO YOU PREFER THE SOLO PROJECT? GIVE ME YOUR PERCEPTION
ON THIS.
I try to make my music interesting even without having lots of people in the band by using different instruments and sounds than you might normally expect. I like to multi-track to create thick textures with guitars and vocals, and since this is a recording project it's most easily done by one person I think. It might enrich the music to have more musicians, but I think that what I come up with is varied enough that I don't feel the need for more input.
5.WHAT ARE YOUR LYRICS TALKING ABOUT? WHICH THEMES DO YOU LKE TO
"HURT" THROUGH YOUR LYRICS?
I talk a lot about society and how I wish it would be more communal and work together to help the people who need help. I write about how it seems to me that people have screwed up and our world is broken, and people are lying about who they are and what life is about to them. There are also a few songs about personal struggle, losing faith in humanity and suicide.
6.YOUR MUSIC IS VERY WEIRD. HOW WOUOD YOU DESCRIBE IT TO SOMEONE THAT HAS NEVER HEARD OF YOU BEFORE? CAN YOU NAME SOME OF YOUR MOST BELOVED
BANDS AND ALBUMS?
I would describe it as experimental metal, going from blackmetal to deathmetal to industrial to goth, varied and emotional. Some of the bands I really feel were important to me are Suffocation, Bolt Thrower, Hocico - Cursed Land, Emperor - In the Nightside Eclipse, Ved Buens Ende, At The Gates, Front 242 - Up Evil, My Dying Bride, Mayhem, Immolation, Onieroid Psychosis, Nazxul, Dead Can Dance - Within the Realm of a Dying Sun, Gorgoroth - Under the Sign of Hell, Malevolent Creation - Retribution.
7.HOW ARE YOU PLANNING TO PROMOTE YOUR WORK? ARE YOU THINKING OF
HIRING SOME SESSION MUSICIANS TO DO ANY LIVE SHOWS OR DO YOU THINK THAT
YOUR MUSIC CAN NOT BE PRESENTED LIVE EASILY?
It would be very difficult to assemble a live band but I can't say it will never happen. I know that for now I just want to write and record as much music as I can. I hope to promote the band with the internet and through my label, Black Lotus Records.
8.YOUR COVER ARTOWRK IS WEIRD AND DARK. CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT IT SHOWS?
There's a shotgun and a dead tree on the cover. And a monkey wrench on the back.
9.DOES YOUR NEED FOR CREATING A SOLO PROJECT DERIVE FROM YOUR SENSE OF LONLINESS AND EMPTINESS? WHAT I MEAN IS THAT NOWADAYS PEOPLE GET STRANDED AND WE DON'T PAY MUCH ATTENTION TO THOSE NEXT TO US. IS THIS MORE OR LESS WHAT YOU ARE TRYING TO EPXRESS WITH YOUR SONG "ALONE IN WASTE"?
For that song in particular that's what I was getting at, a general abandonment of a world of selfish people. But other songs are more hopeful I think, so I wouldn't say the fact that it's a solo project is because I'm an isolationist or anything.
10.IF YOU HAD THE MONEY TO MAKE AN EXPENSIVE VIDEO CLIP, WHICH SONG OF YOURS WOULD YOU CHOOSE AND HOW DO YOU IMAGINE IT TO BE?
I am planning on making a video for 'Lustmord'. There will be much snow and dark things about death in the video. Probably living things eating dead things.
11.IF YOUR MUSIC WAS AN EMOTION, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
    Direful!
12.IF YOU HAD THE ABILITY TO CHANGE SOMETHING IN THE WORLD WHAT WOULD
THIS BE?
I would eliminate religion. I think it stunts mental and technological growth. It also gives people a sort of arrogance that says "I am doing gods will and have the right to kill you for being different".
13.IF YOU SUDDENLY WERE TRANSFERED BACK IN THE PAST, WHAT WOULD YOU
MISS THE MOST FROM OUR TIMES AND WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU WOULDN'T MISS AT
ALL AND ON THE CONTRARY YOU'D BE HAPPY TO GET RID OF?
I would miss more than anything our ability to hear music from people all over the world, recorded on CDs and mp3s. It's only been in the last 75 or 100 years that we have been able to distribute recorded music around the world. One thing I would be happy to get rid of is thermo-nuclear weaponry. This is especially scary when you live in america today. Either that or I'd get rid of email SPAM, I can't decide which is worse.
14.WHICH ARE THE DREAMS YOU WANT TO MAKE TRUE WITH THIS BAND?
I would like to write and record as much music as possible.
16.THANK YOU! LEAVE YOUR MESSAGE. IS THERE ANYTHING MORE YOU'D LIKE TO
ADD?
